Post-Chávez Venezuela could prove more business-friendly
Venezuela's leftist leader, Hugo Chávez, is battling cancer, and for the first time has publicly discussed the possibility that he will have to step down. That could lead to private-sector renewal in the Caribbean petro-state, analysts say. "Any successor, whether from the opposition, or handpicked by him, will be more moderate, more market-friendly than Chávez has been," says Kathryn Rooney Vera of Bulltick Capital Markets.
