Appeals court decision complicates "Don't Ask" resolution:

A little known federal appeals court decision that sets a higher bar in nine Western states for removing personnel under the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy adds a further complication to the effort to lift the ban, according to this article. In a decision that reportedly has yet to be followed by the military, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found that an Air Force major in a lesbian relationship could not be fired unless it were shown that the dismissal would help cohesion or discipline.
