AIDS bill that would lift HIV-travel ban gets Senate OK

A bill that over the next five years would triple global funding for AIDS treatment and prevention to as much as $48 billion and lift a ban on people with HIV entering the U.S. has cleared the Senate by an 80-16 margin. The bill must be reconciled with the House, whose version did not include lifting the HIV-travel ban, before being sent to President George W. Bush, who is expected to sign it.
