President, lawmakers take stands against Uganda's anti-gay bill
The House and Senate have each unveiled a resolution that issues a call to Uganda to drop a proposed anti-gay bill that would punish gay men and lesbians with the death penalty and asks other countries to speak out against measures that would make being gay a crime. In related news, President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in separate remarks at a National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., each condemned the proposed legislation.
