Broadcasters seek involvement in FCC hearings on Hurricane Sandy
Broadcasters are "eager to participate" in a series of field hearings the Federal Communications Commission plans to conduct on the impact of Hurricane Sandy on the communications infrastructure, according to a letter NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith wrote to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski. "Service to community is the lifeblood of the local broadcaster, and we take seriously our role as first informers during times of crisis," Smith wrote.
