Hostage-negotiation tips for coping with a bad boss
If you have a tyrannical boss, you might be able to use hostage-negotiation strategies to help you get what you want, Susan Adams writes. Try using "interrogatory questions" to help you determine exactly what the boss wants, suggests executive coach Jim Camp. Try asking something such as, "How long do I have to take these tirades before I can help you be more effective?" he suggests.
