Most board members still lack tech knowledge, poll says
Most board members of some of the nation's leading firms lack even the most basic knowledge of the technologies that drive their companies, a learning gap that many in top management now appear eager to bridge. According to a poll of 860 board members conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers, less than 1% have tech experience, but 60% say they plan to spend more time learning about the topic next year. In a CIO.com survey of IT leaders, about 40% said board members "don't really care about IT."
