ABC Consumer Comfort Index rises by 6 points

The ABC Consumer Comfort Index rose 6 points to -43 for the week ended March 14, in its highest reading since the beginning of the year. According to the index, 10% of Americans view the economy in a positive light, and 29% think now is a good time to buy products. The weekly index of consumer confidence has hit -43 only five times since October 2008.
