Afghan and Rwandan women forge businesses of their own

The challenges faced by American businesswomen pale in comparison to the cultural, social, political and economic barriers confronting women in Afghanistan, Rwanda and other developing countries, writes Terry Neese, an entrepreneur and head of the Family Policy Center at the National Center for Policy Analysis. Improved laws are needed to clear hurdles for women entrepreneurs, who, studies show, pay loans back at higher rates and use their earnings to invest in their families and communities.
