Survey: Testing, discipline issues are causing teacher burnout
Two out of five teachers are unhappy in their jobs -- with most citing their school's administration, discipline issues and standardized testing as top concerns, according to a survey by Public Agenda and Learning Point Associates. One Arkansas teacher said the emphasis placed on test scores places pressure on teachers. "When those test scores don't show the hard work as a teacher, it is disheartening," Melanie Myklebust said. Close to 900 teachers nationwide completed the surveys, which asked more than 100 questions.
