Educator: Math lessons should be rigorous, not impossible

When it comes to math lessons, educators might be mistaking difficulty for rigor, according to a professor of physics at Loyola University Maryland. Joseph Ganem says students should be taught to understand increasingly difficult math lessons as they progress in school -- when it is developmentally appropriate -- and concepts such as advanced algebra should not be taught at the middle-school level.
