Geographer explores the resistance to genetically modified food
In her book "Growing Resistance," University of Regina geography professor Emily Eaton explores the history of Canadian farmers' fight against genetically modified wheat. The farmers were able to mount a successful resistance by banding together with environmentalists and other groups, and in 2004, Monsanto said it would "discontinue breeding and field level research of transgenic Roundup Ready wheat."
