N.C. high-school students can register early to vote
A North Carolina law allows high schools to hold voter registration drives during the school day. Students can even register in advance of them becoming the legal voting age. "I hope that this is a tool to say 'participate in your government, be involved ...' " said state Rep. Tricia Ann Cotham (D), a co-sponsor of the law, which passed in 2009 with bipartisan support.
