Rumors that swirled after the Fukushima Daiichi incident in Japan are a good example about the importance of checking blogs, said Neil Sheehan, a spokesman for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. "We monitor for rumor control to stop erroneous information from getting out so as not to scare the public," he said.
