Japan regulator seeks amendment of waste-management plans
The Japanese government needs to amend plans for the semi-permanent storage of highly radioactive waste underground in favor of an approach that would allow the recovery of the material in the future, according to the Japan Atomic Energy Commission. Recent scientific expertise isn't properly shown in existing plans, the commission said.
