Elizabeth Esty, D-Conn., were scheduled to present the Outstanding 911 Call Center Award to Newtown Emergency Communications Center staff for their work on the day of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. "Newtown emergency call center dispatchers -- like other first responders -- well deserve this great recognition for their immense bravery and strength in the face of unspeakable tragedy," Blumenthal said.
