NFIB objects to bill mandating paid sick leave

NFIB expressed concerns Tuesday about a proposal in Congress to require small businesses to pay employees sick leave under certain conditions, even though the proposal would exempt businesses with fewer than 15 employees. "Having Washington mandate that a certain benefit and a certain leave package just runs counter to the way small business is run," said Brad Close, vice president of public policy for the organization. "Every business is different. They don't need to be told they need to provide X benefit package and Y wages."
