A LEED credit set to take effect in July that would be awarded to buildings that avoid using "chemicals of concern" has prompted 56 House lawmakers to write to the General Services Administration. The legislators asked the GSA to choose something other than the U.S. Green Building Council's standards to measure the sustainability of their buildings, saying that chemical- and plastic-building material manufacturers would be hurt by the standard.
