Snowstorms in Oklahoma are raising concerns about dammed ice on roofs. Installation of a protective membrane between decking and shingles, which is standard practice in colder climates, isn't common in Oklahoma. Ice damming causes roof leaks when the ice melts, and damage may not be apparent for months.
