New Smoothie King CEO maps growth plans
South Korean Smoothie King franchisee Wan Kim raised $58 million from investors after buying the 40-year-old New Orleans-based chain in July, and as CEO he has big plans for using the money to grow market share. The chain's game plan includes focusing growth in warm-weather markets, adding food to the menu and opening 200 corporate stores and 800 new U.S. franchises in the next five years.
