Sears exec: How the Black Friday shopper has changed
Sears and Kmart's decision to open on Thanksgiving Day brought in a more relaxed crowd of shoppers who spent time shopping more of the store than those first in the door in search of specific deals at 6 a.m on Black Friday, says Sears and Kmart president Ron Boire. Convenience and choice, as illustrated in a popular program that lets online shoppers opt to pick up their purchases in the store, are at the center of the retailer's strategy for boosting sales, he said.
