Retailers to cater to online bargain hunters on Black Friday
Online sales grew to 40% of the $52.4 billion shoppers spent on Black Friday weekend last year, up from 23% of the total in 2006, as more consumers traded long pre-dawn lines for the comforts of shopping from home, according to the National Retail Federation. Retailers including Wal-Mart and Best Buy are recognizing the shift, with some Black Friday deals that will only be available online.
