Indiana Senate may block earlier online sales tax collections
A bill that would require Amazon and other online retailers to start collecting sales tax from customers in Indiana in July, six months earlier than the date set in a deal between Amazon and Gov. Mitch Daniels, passed the state House but appears to be stalled in the Senate. "All we're asking for is to put everybody on a level playing field and collect the tax," said Rep. Tom Dermody, the bill's sponsor.
