Beans might curb risk of metabolic syndrome in obese people
Consuming a large amount of dried beans, peas and lentils might stave off metabolic syndrome, according to a study in the British Journal of Nutrition. Data on overweight and obese participants show that those who underwent a dried-bean diet attained reduction in markers of metabolic syndrome similar to that of those who underwent a low-calorie diet.
