Food-safety inspections won't fall victim to budget cuts
The sequester and its attendant budget cuts won't result in fewer food-safety inspections, the Food and Drug Administration said. The agency had outlined a worst-case scenario last month that would have cut about 18% of inspections by Sept. 30. "Our goal is to absorb the cuts without a risk to public health," said spokeswoman Shelly Burgess.
