Study: Sublingual immunotherapy may reduce peanut allergy reactions
Data from a small study showed that 70% of patients receiving sublingual immunotherapy for peanut allergies had a positive response after 44 weeks, compared with 15% in a placebo group. Researchers wrote in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology that the study suggests long-term SLIT may offer protection against accidental ingestion of peanuts.
