How can schools manage food waste?
Officials in a Kansas school district are considering whether they could reduce waste in school cafeterias by allowing students to take uneaten food home with them. The discussion stems from concern about the amount of food being thrown out in schools. While schools say they cannot reserve leftover food, some allow students to place their leftovers on a "share" table where their peers can select food they want to eat.
