Study links red meat intake to higher chance of GDM
Pregnant women who were in the highest quintile of red meat intake before pregnancy were significantly more likely than those in the lowest quintile to develop gestational diabetes mellitus, according to a study in Diabetes Care. However, consuming foods rich in vegetable protein, such as nuts, may help reduce the risk, researchers said.
