People from other countries seem to be thinner than those in the U.S., and their secret may be sticking to the three-meals-per-day rule and cutting out snacks, Registered dietitian Janis Jibrin writes. She notes that the French are committed to having lunch, many times a hot meal with meat and vegetables, and they save pastries and other fattening foods for a treat on the weekend.
