Ga. district encourages students to "break the fast"
With students in Forsyth County, Ga., gearing up for standardized-test season, officials say it's a good time to encourage them to eat a healthy breakfast at school. Schools are celebrating National Breakfast Week, conducted through the Georgia School Nutrition Association in conjunction with National Nutrition Month. "We help them to understand that breakfast means 'break the fast' and that in the morning, you need to fuel your body so you can be ready to learn," said Valerie Bowers, director of food and nutrition services for the district.
