PCRM pings hospitals for unhealthy foods, but sees progress
The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine criticized five U.S. hospitals for having unhealthy food environments, but its director of nutrition and education, Susan Levin, says some are "starting to step it up" by offering healthier foods, buying local produce and replacing fast-food restaurants on their campuses. Shands hospital at the University of Florida objected to being on the PCRM list, saying the group culled from old menus and did not consider its new "Great Living Menus" that focuses on healthier food options.
