Study: Insurers may not recover losses caused by climate change

The growing number and intensity of storms and floods caused by climate change each year could have a severe impact on the global insurance industry, according to a study from the Association of British Insurers. Property/casualty insurers might not be able to meet capital requirements as they struggle to recover from massive catastrophe losses, the group said.
