Cardiac rehab program helps reduce weight in study

A cardiac rehabilitation program run by clinicians led to weight loss and better health behaviors among adults at high risk for cardiovascular disease, according to Irish researchers. Overall BMI and waist size both fell. The study involved a Mediterranean-style diet and targets for consumption of fruits, vegetables and fish, as well as reduced salt use and higher activity levels.
