Migraines may be linked to cardiovascular risk, studies suggest
Migraines with aura significantly increase a woman's risk of heart attack and stroke, coming in second to high blood pressure, according to research from the National Institute of Health and Medical Research in Bordeaux, France. A second study found women who have migraines and use oral contraceptives are at a higher risk for thrombotic events.
