Obesity, cardiovascular dysfunction in youths may be linked
A Canadian study found early signs of cardiovascular abnormalities among obese children and teens, including changes in ventricular and vascular structure and function. Prevention and treatment initiatives targeting obesity are urgently needed in order to avert cardiovascular damage at an early age, researchers reported in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
