Judge rules in favor of Verizon in pension-payment lawsuit

U.S. Magistrate Judge Morton Denlow ruled in favor of Verizon Communications in a case over pension-plan payments. A judgment against Verizon could have cost the firm as much $1.67 billion. An attorney for the plaintiffs in the group lawsuit said they were considering an appeal.
