Legal battle over Skype seen ending
The legal battle between the private equity consortium that bought Skype from its last owner eBay and the entrepreneurs who created the company is about to end, sources familiar with the matter said on Tuesday. Skype founders Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, who sold the company to eBay in 2005, sued the consortium for $1.9 billion, claiming that their own company owned the rights to the software Skype uses. A settlement is reportedly being arranged which would give the two founders a stake in the new company that will operate Skype.
