Chart: Low-income voters could be key to GOP's revival
The conventional wisdom is that Republicans should focus on winning over middle-class voters in order to win the next election -- but a new analysis suggests that low-income voters might also have a key role to play. Comparing the GOP's vote share for different income levels over the four past election cycles reveals that the party's successful presidential candidates did a good job of winning the support of poor Americans, not just rich and middle-class voters.
