Tax worries have U.S. franchisees holding back
The number of franchises in the U.S. is expected to grow 1.4% next year, a slightly slower pace than 2012, according to a report from the International Franchise Association. While franchisees are hopeful that the "fiscal cliff" issue will be resolved, the prospect of higher taxes and ongoing government inaction have many putting off expansion plans.
