Final U.S. drawdown in Afghanistan to begin in April 2014
The final drawdown of U.S. troops in Afghanistan will begin in April 2014, after Afghanistan's elections, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Friday. The White House said recently that half of the 66,000 U.S. troops currently in Afghanistan would be brought home by this spring.
