Karzai: U.S. special forces must leave Afghan province
Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Sunday ordered that U.S. special forces cease operations in the eastern Afghanistan province of Wardak within two weeks. Karzai said U.S. forces had been involved in operations where Afghans were tortured or abused, a charge that NATO said there was no evidence of. "We take all allegations of misconduct seriously and go to great lengths to determine the facts surrounding them," said German Gen. Gunter Katz, a spokesman for coalition forces in the region.
