Veterans who wait longer than 125 days for their disability claims to be processed should receive interest in addition to any retroactive benefits, the American Legion says. Despite efforts by the Department of Veterans Affairs to speed up claims processing by hiring more staff and changing how claims are managed, the backlog of cases continues to grow.
