Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has joined the brewing conflict between Republicans in Congress and the White House regarding government guidance for defense contractors and WARN Act compliance. The guidance stated that companies that would face layoffs due to sequestration would not have to comply with the WARN Act, which requires written notice to affected workers 60 days in advance of mass layoffs. McCain has announced his intent to block any efforts to use taxpayer money toward any reimbursement expenses.
