Report: Google confers with DISH on wireless
Google is said to be among the companies DISH Network has talked with to leverage the satellite provider's 40 MHz cache of wireless spectrum it wants to use to provide a national wireless service, according to The Wall Street Journal. Also, DISH said that it has won approval from the Third Generation Partnership Project, or 3GPP, working group on the specifications for deploying the spectrum, a move that will allow DISH to work with hardware companies to develop phones and other gear for its network. Sprint Nextel opposed the application, DISH said.
