DIRECTV offered subscribers a pair of dedicated, around-the-clock channels devoted to information about Hurricane Sandy, featuring live coverage from local TV stations in areas in the storm's path. The provider launched the channels on Monday morning and planned to continue until the storm had "diminished in strength."
