Researchers discover mammoth skeleton outside Paris
Researchers unearthed a near-complete skeleton of a woolly mammoth they named Helmut, which lived 200,000 to 500,000 years ago. The remains that were recovered at an archaeological site at Changis-sur-Marne, France, outside Paris include a complete pelvis, four connected vertebrae and a femur. "Such a discovery is extraordinary in France, since only three specimens have been unearthed in 150 years," the researchers said in a statement.
