Scientists find female skeleton in suspected Richard III graveyard
Archaeologists found a female skeleton buried at the Church of the Grey Friars in Leicester, England, while searching for the remains of King Richard III. "We know of at least one woman connected with the friary, Ellen Luenor, a possible benefactor and founder with her husband, Gilbert," said Mathew Morris, site director of the University of Leicester Archaeological Services. Since the friary took care of the destitute and homeless, it is also possible the remains belong to a female pauper, Morris added.
