Rheumatoid arthritis raises risk of blood clots, study finds
A Swedish study found that people with rheumatoid arthritis have a higher risk of developing blood clots in their veins in the 10 years after diagnosis than people without the condition. The risk increases when patients are hospitalized. The findings appeared in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
