Report: Obesity costs N.Y. $12B annually
New York spends about $12 billion in obesity-related health care costs annually, according to a report by state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. The comptroller on Wednesday urged parents, schools, government officials and community groups to help stem childhood obesity to prevent future human and financial costs.
