NSF forecasts big growth for nanotechnology

The National Science Foundation expects the industry for nanotechnology, which has applications in several fields including medicine, to grow into a market valued at $1 trillion annually by 2015, with nanopharmaceuticals taking up to $180 billion of the total. "Nanomedicine has the potential to create a tremendous paradigm shift that could be described as no less than revolutionary in treating many diseases such as cancer," an expert said.
